Tearful Interview Spotlights Sexual Assault Claims Against Fairfax

The Democrat party is in a panic.

Across the board, their party leadership is under fire as scandal after scandal washes over their most prominent elected officials.

And now, yet another rising star within the Democratic Party has his career in jeopardy after these sexual assault allegations emerged.

Democrats have had a disastrous month.

With numerous elected officials running for president or gearing up to seek higher office, it seemed like the party was on the verge of a political renaissance.

But that delusion has now been shattered after waves of sexual assault allegations have emerged against some of the party’s most prominent officials.

And Virginia Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax is one of them.

Fairfax, elected in 2017, was supposed to be the future of the Democratic Party in Virginia.

But instead, he may soon be out of a job and possibly even impeached from office. And it’s all because two allegations of rape have emerged against him.

The Daily Caller reports, “A woman accusing Democratic Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax of sexual assault spoke out for the first time on Monday.”

“A tearful Vanessa Tyson sat down with Gayle King on ‘CBS This Morning,’ and explained how the alleged incident made her feel ‘ashamed.’”

Tyson was the first of two women to accuse Fairfax of rape, in the middle of what appeared to be his time to take the mantle of the state government after Virginia Governor Ralph Northam was implicated in his own scandal involving wearing blackface and/or a KKK robe.

The news that Fairfax may have raped someone at the Democratic National Convention back in 2004 put an end to his upward trajectory.

And it’s all been downhill for him ever since.

Fairfax has subsequently been placed on leave by the law firm he works for, while the state legislature is beginning to set up a process to interview the two women who have come forward as they debate possibly removing the Lt. Governor from office.

“Tyson accused Fairfax in February of forcing her to perform oral sex on him when they were both staffers at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, Massachusetts. Tyson is currently a professor at Stanford University,” adds the Daily Caller.

“Tyson also called for Fairfax to resign, echoing calls from politicians from both sides of the aisle.”

Tyson, an active Democrat, has been adamant in her argument that her allegations aren’t politically motivated, declaring that calls for resignation over sexual assault should “never be a partisan issue”.

If Fairfax refuses to step down, he may be forced out by the state legislature, which could impeach him out of office.

There’s also a chance that Fairfax could face criminal charges depending on how much more this scandal develops.

Either way, a liberal Democrat who was looking forward to taking over the role of being Governor of Virginia is now watching as his political future crumbles into dust.
