Pro-Life Crowd Flocks to Rally in Richmond

Thursday, Virginia First Foundation’s Commonwealth for Life hosted their “March on Richmond” rally on the steps of Virginia’s State Capitol.

The event drew upwards of 500 attendees sporting signs and placards opposing abortion.

Speakers roused the crowd with calls condemning Governor Ralph Northam’s extreme comments on abortion and his support for a bill advanced by Kathy Tran that would have removed many restrictions on third trimester abortions.

“The mask is off. The hypocrisy has been revealed, and now we know who they really are” said former U.S. Senate candidate E.W. Jackson, “[Northam] deserves to be called a monster, because that’s what that is.”

Referring to Governor Northam, Jackson continued: “Six years ago this is the man who refused to shake my hand during a TV Debate. Well I got a message for you, Governor Northam. I don’t want to shake your hand.”

Victoria Cobb, of the Family Foundation, chimed in on the same note, stating “the extremism that we have seen all along is finally on display for the nation to see”.

Women and men affected by abortion also joined with pastors and elected officials in encouraging the pro-life community to turn their anger into organized action.

Diana Shores, one of the event organizers, explained: “We must remain vigilant in the fight to protect unborn children”

Among the elected officials who attended were Senator Jill Vogel and Delegate Bob Thomas, both of whom voted to give Planned Parenthood over two million in taxpayer dollars last year.

It’s unknown whether these officials planned to speak, although they were not listed on the official speakers list.

Even with this renewed pressure, it’s doubtful the Governor will file his resignation.

At this time, Northam is still posturing to serve the rest of his term.
