Dems: Dave Brat isn’t “mild mannered”

Virginia is a hotbed for left-field Democrat attacks this year.

We’ve only just shed the headlines where Denver Riggleman was framed as a devotee of “Bigfoot erotica”.

Now Democrat Abigail Spanberger’s campaign is accusing Dave Brat of something petty, and it raises eyebrows as to what the Democrats have to campaign on this election season.

Since before he was elected, Democrats have been berating President Trump and trying desperately to brand all their Republican opponents as right-wring extremists.

It seems Democrats are scraping the bottom of the barrel to find attacks that don’t include ‘racist, sexist, Trump’ all in the same sentence.

So when Spanberger’s campaign manager, Dana Bye, picked apart Dave Brat’s new TV ad, her first attack out of the gate was to whack Brat for not being “mild mannered”.

Featured in a Spanberger fundraising email this week, Dana Bye stated:

Rep. Brat’s first TV ad doesn’t mention Abigail. Instead, it says some misleading things about his own record, like the claims that he is “mild mannered” and that he’s the one with “a plan to fix our broken health care system.”

Bye follows it up by calling Brat “extreme” without any direct explanation.

This far-reaching attack shows that Democrats are desperate to defeat Brat in November and they’ll use any ammunition they can get their hands on to make it happen.

On the other hand, Brat has been campaigning on his record of cutting taxes, low unemployment, and supporting President Trump’s hefty cuts to federal regulations.

What do you think? Does Spanberger have any substance to her new message?
